Jaguar Type 01 Starts at $130,500 After New York Reveal

Jaguar revealed the production Jaguar Type 01 in New York on the evening of October 6, 2026. The four-door electric grand tourer is the first production car of Jaguar’s rebrand and the first built on Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). U.S. MSRP starts at $130,500. In the UK, prices start from £130,000.

First of the new era

Type 01 is a luxury four-door GT designed, engineered, and built in the UK. Jaguar calls it the foundation of the brand’s new chapter after the modernist design reset. The New York premiere put the production car on stage at STORIED in West Chelsea, with a digital sweep across the city earlier that evening, according to Jaguar’s premiere release.

Orders are expected to open in early 2027. First customer deliveries are planned for the second half of 2027.

Power, range, and charging

Under the long hood sits a tri-motor setup: one 260 kW motor up front and twin 310 kW motors at the rear. Jaguar rates peak output at up to 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 lb-ft of torque, with 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds. An 850-volt electrical system feeds a 118 kWh usable battery.

Jaguar claims a range of up to 400 miles on a full charge. On the U.S. newsroom page, that figure is a manufacturer estimate, with updated EPA numbers still to come through retailers. On a 350 kW DC charger, Jaguar says the pack can add up to 200 miles in as little as 13 minutes, or move from about 10% to 80% in around 22 minutes.

At $130,500 before destination and options, Type 01 sits in the same neighborhood as other high-end electric tourers rather than volume crossovers. For a recent look at another premium EV maker’s volume story, see our Lucid Q3 2026 deliveries report.

Jaguar says Type 01 never arrives unnoticed. With orders still months away, the New York reveal is the first clear U.S. price and timing peg for the car that restarts the brand.
