Lucid Q3 2026 deliveries hit 3,806 vehicles against 2,954 built, the company said on October 5 in a release it also filed with the SEC. Deliveries ran 852 units ahead of production, which is exactly what Lucid has said it wants right now: fewer new cars coming off the line and more of the cars it already built going to customers.
The numbers
| Quarter | Produced | Delivered |
|---|---|---|
| Q3 2026 | 2,954 | 3,806 |
| Q2 2026 | 4,774 | 3,953 |
| Q3 2025 | 3,891* | 4,078 |
*Lucid’s Q3 2025 production figure did not include more than 1,000 additional vehicles built for final assembly in Saudi Arabia.
By our math, production fell about 38% from the second quarter, while deliveries slipped only about 4%. Compared with the same quarter last year, deliveries were down about 7%.
Why output dropped
The production cut is deliberate. In June, Lucid eliminated the second shift at its AMP-1 factory in Arizona, as part of a workforce reduction of about 18% in the U.S. In August, CEO Silvio Napoli laid out what the company calls an operating reset, with a goal of $1.4 billion in cash flow improvements during 2026. Lucid said roughly $600 million to $800 million of that would come from inventory, about $500 million from lower capital spending, and about $200 million from operating expenses.
Selling cars it has already built is the inventory piece of that plan. The company said deliveries topped production in the third quarter because it kept converting existing stock into customer deliveries.
What Lucid said about demand
The release did not break out sales by model or by region. Lucid did say demand for the Gravity SUV “continued to regain momentum.” The next new model, built on Lucid’s smaller Midsize platform, was still going through validation and durability testing as of the company’s August update, so the Gravity and the Air sedan are carrying the lineup for now.
For context, Lucid’s second quarter was a growth quarter on paper, with production up 24% and deliveries up 19% from a year earlier. The third quarter is the first full quarter after the shift cut, so the drop in output was expected. The more telling number is deliveries, and those held up fairly well.
What comes next
Lucid will report full third-quarter financial results on Monday, November 9, with a call at 2:30pm Pacific. Shareholders can submit questions for management through Say Technologies starting October 23. Net income and cash flow will come with that report, and those figures will show whether the inventory drawdown is turning into the cash Lucid is counting on.
Rivian reported its own third-quarter figures last week. You can compare the two in our look at Rivian’s Q3 2026 deliveries.
